German Cockroaches
The German cockroach is the most common in the Pacific Northwest. It’s often found in apartments, restaurants, hospitals, and other locations were food is stored, prepared or severed. The adult German cockroach is pale brown with two dark brown lengthwise stripes on the shield behind the head. The nymphs are darker than the adults. The female caries an egg case on the tip of her abdomen until approximately a day before the eggs are ready to hatch. Each egg case holds about 30-48 eggs, and she produces 4-8 egg cases in her life time. The German cockroach egg cases are light tan in color and about 1/3in. long. In ideal conditions the German cockroach can live up to 12 months. German cockroaches produce so fast that they can become a big infestation in no time at all.
